A relatively small field of 354 lined up for this Fylde coast 10K,  compared to the larger Beaverbrooks 10k , also on the Blackpool promenade which  attracts several thousand every year.   A rare Saturday event starting at 11 a.m. so a long wait for those staying to witness the second night of the annual Illuminations spectacle.   Only one Sale Harrier , M60 TERRY LONERGAN, made the journey, running his 130^th 10K  and managing to win the age category in 42.50.  But he was made to work hard for the victory , racing shoulder to shoulder with Steve Pierce of Kendal  for long periods before nudging away to win by 5 seconds.
