Young, 16-year old Katie Byers, Britain's U/17
No.1 pole vault sensation is currently competing in the first Youth
Olympics in Singapore. Her father, Andy writes from the opening
ceremony," What a night last night at the opening
ceremony was. Fantastic! Amazing! Unbelievable! 27000 watching in
Marina Bay, with the fireworks and dancers against a backdrop of
the Singapore Bay, and 2 billion watching on TV. Quite an event! We
saw Katie right at the end and were able to wave at her, she
spotted us waving union jacks frantically" If you go
