How to Join

Sale Harriers Manchester welcomes all abilities and every age-group and discipline.  We're a large club based at three sites - Crossford Bridge (Sale), Wythenshawe Park and Sportcity (East Manchester).  If you're interested in joining or have a general enquiry, begin with the Contacts section. Those listed there are your first points of contact who'll take your basic details, provide you with whatever initial information you need and then they'll put you in contact with the most appropriate coach, team manager or club official who'll take it from there.

If your interest is broadly Endurance (i.e. Road, Cross-Country, Fells), Track and Field (any T & F discipline) or Primary (children age 6 years upwards) you'll also benefit by reading the background information by clicking  in the relevant section.   If you encounter a problem, don't hesitate to contact the website editor.

Please do not be put off by thinking that, because Sale Harriers has some of the fastest runners and best field event athletes in the country, the club doesn't cater for all abilities. Whether you want to be part of a strong competitive Club or simply part of a group of keep-fit enthusiasts, Sale Harriers welcomes you.

It also pays to belong to a running/athletic club!  You'll be affiliated to the National body, UK Athletics and, therefore, entitled to reduced fees for road races and other events and you'll also be covered by their insurance in the event of an accident.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

Every club values the support its members and others give. Indeed, Sale Harriers Manchester would not exist were it not for volunteers. Most of the club's indispensible managers, coaches and officials are athletes, ex-athletes or the parents of children and young members. In the summer track & field leagues, the contribution of volunteers adds valuable points to the teams overall performances. We never have enough volunteers to help manage groups on match days; train as coaches & officials; help marshal events and/or assist with the administration of a large club. If you can give some time to the support of your club on any level, it will be greatly appreciated. Contact Fechin McCormick on fechinmccormick@saleharriersmanchester.com
