At the Celtic Cup in Cardiff, Roy Ejiakuekwu
grabbed some of the limelight from his training partner Clovis
Asong. He recorded double wins in both 60m (in which he was a
guest) and 200m. He also destroyed the field in his leg of the 200m
leg relay and set up the win for the team. Ahtollah
Rose was also a guest athlete in the triple jump. Her jump
of 12.30m gave her an unofficial second place behind Nonny Mordi
from Scotland
At the inter-City Challenge in Sheffield, Roy
Ejiakuekwu again displayed his fine form in the 200m. He
was narrowly beaten into second place by Conrad Williams (coached
by Linford Christie), with a new indoor PB of 21.67. Conrad is 10
years Roy's senior, with Roy just turned seventeen
James Davies (U23 Long Jump) finished
5th. He unfortunately had five no jumps and got one safe
jump in of 7.10cm. It was a frustrating day because he was jumping
the furthest but kept fowling. Clovis Asong had a
wake up call when he finished 3rd in the 400m even though he ran a
new indoor PB of 48.18
International Jess Taylor, part of the GB team who won bronze
medals at the recent multi-events International in Prague, again
recorded her best series of jumps since changing her coach
This weekend these athletes will again feature in the Senior AAA
as they've been invited to compete. Roy will feature in the 200m,
Clovis in the 400m, James Davies in the Long jump and Ahtollah Rose
in the Triple Jump
