On the Indoors, big congratulations to Katia Lannon who won the Scottish indoor multievents a couple of weeks ago and last weekend also won intercity multi events. Katia was one of the country's most promising young multi-events athletes but injury blighted her blossoming career.
Two of team Bartram's U17 athletes have also been in action. Lydia Randles competed at the AAA's in Birmingham in the 60mh competition In the 4th heat she improved her PB and qualified for the semi's. Running in the fastest semi spurred her to improve her lifetime best yet again and just missed the final qualifying time by 300th of a second.
At the National Indoors combined events last weekend, Marnie Wells - Nicholls started the day in impressive form registering the first of a string of PB's in the 60mh, high jump, shot put and long jump. Together the PB's gave Marnie a new improved indoor pentathlon points PB an increase of 283 points. She finished a credible 5th overall nationally and 3rd in the North.
Lydia, still feeling the effects of the AAA the weekend before, didn't really get going. A good 60mh started the day off followed by A PB in high jump. She finished with an improved indoor pentathlon points PB of 343pts.
Well done!! 2pb'S (Compiled by Fechin Mc Cormick)
