It was a great day of 'first' places for the club in the weekends Debdale 7k, the penultimate of the Manchester Parks Grand Prix series that's been touring across Manchester through the summer.
Rob Flannery gave the latest indication he's getting back to his best after several years on the sidelines by winning the race in a creditable time of 24.21. Louise Whittaker also won the women's section. Louise could be among the country's finest and most graceful runners but has been blighted by injury. She's back running her third race and second victory in a week. Jan Nichols is maintaining her winning form by being the first F40 home and tops her age-category for the series. Jackie Cordingly won her F50 race and so consolidates her winning position in the series and retains an impressive series of age-group victories that go back almost a decade. Evergreen Jenny Miles, by also winning her F60 category, is well on her way to winning her first Grand Prix. Well done also to Brian Bradshaw who notched up 3rd place in the M50 category with another PB of three minutes and indomitable M60 Terry Lonergan who was also third. Sale also won two the team races. The trio of \Richard Edwards and Steven Townley clinched the men's race and Louise Whittaker, Jan Nichols and Jackie Cordingley secured the women's event (Written by Fechin Mc Cormick)
