Tatton Half Marathon
The debut Tatton half Marathon, organised my Wilmslow AC is another HM success story to add to their other prestigious March event. Over a flat, seemingly popular pleasant course on roads around the famous Cheshire Park there were more than 1500 finishers. Club participants are listed below. (If your result is not included it's either because you did not sent it in; I've missed you out; you did not register as a SHM and/or you're not registered on the Power of 10 website. However, if you do send it in belatedly, the report can be readily updated.
Andy Mooney 1:19.13: Impressive 10th. A four minute PB over Wilmslow HM in 2011
Steve Townley 1:20.20: Might have broken PB (79.48) had he not run the National Relays
Stephen Pottage 1:26.06: Almost a 2 minute PB over this year's Wilmslow HM
Jerry Smith 1:33.00: Best for almost 3 years. 3rd in M55 category
Jo Robbins 1:35.44: Almost 90 sec PB over Wilmslow '11. 'Delighted' she said.
Louise Robbins 1:39.40: Almost four minutes down on previous HM (Wilmslow '12)
Lauren Davies 1:44.23: A well deserved 10 minute PB over M'field. Training for London
Miran Aprahamien 1:44.24: Pace-setter for Lauren
Karen Sheen 1:49.40: Excellent run.
Rachael Kavanagh 1:51.39: No information available
Marinda Breddy 2:04.12: No information available
Rosa Elliott 2:05.38: No information available
Ranjit Bennett 2:12.56: No information available
Dublin Marathon: We must also give Jim lambe a big clap on the back for the Halloween Dublin Marathon. This is a regular event for Jim and, though not in the shape he was when he clocked 3:14 in 2012 he hoped to get close. A series of mishaps before and during the race meant he finished a disappointing 4:08.56
Winsford 10k: A small group made the trip for Winsford's multi-terrain 10k race. Jerry Smith wrote, " Collecting our race numbers was chaotic with a lot of runners queuing in a small tent but once the race started it was a very pleasant course with wooded trails, a couple of hills and a section along the River Weaver. With everyone racing the next weekend this was essentially a training run with Zoe Gmerek, myself and Tim Rainey running as a group and Jenny Miles running with Zoe's friend Sarah. Even so, we all were pleased with our times. Jenny paced Sarah round to a pb and was 1st F60, and Zoe won a fine trophy for being first female over 30, presented to her by the Mayor of Winsford!
Preston Half Marathon: Chris Donnelly is making great strides in his running. In the Preston HM, he finished an impressive 6th in 1:17.46 that was a ninety second PB over his Macclesfield event a few weeks earlier. Well done!
