Jona retained his junior boy’s 200m title, running 22.14 seconds which is a Championship record and equalled his PB and club record. He also won the silver medal in the 4 x 100m relay. Kevin Metzger jumped a new PB and club record of 14.58m to win the inter-boy’s triple jump and has been selected to represent England at the schools international at Cardiff next weekend.
Amy Williams was going for her fourth consecutive horizontal English Schools title but on this occasion had to settle for 3rd place in the inter-girl’s triple jump despite a niggling injury. Kelly Chadwick ran a tremendous PB of 12.23 seconds to finish 3rd in the junior girl’s 100m. Congratulations also to Rory Keen who was another of the Manchester 4 x 100m quartet who won a magnificent silver medal.

Other SHM athletes in the top 10 were Georgia Pickles, Danielle Stringer, Lewis Hannon, J’Nae ward, and Jaimal Brown. Others selected to represent their counties in these championships were Rory Keen, Jonathan Adderley, Emmanuel Muka, Kieran Donnelly, Ewan Gilchrist, Zack Harrop, Bradley Yates, Lucy Cooper, Alexa Mc Tiffin, Francesca Brint, Grace Bower, Meg Mc Hugh, Zenni Enechi, Ebbie Danson-Chappell, Annie Williams and Alyssia Carr.
