UKYDL “Upper” Sportcity May 16th 2015
Despite cold and windy conditions, there were some quite remarkable performances carried out by the 54 club athletes taking part.
Meg McHugh had an outstanding day skimming over the 300m hurdles in 44.9secs, then leaping to an equally impressive 1m 68cm High Jump. Amy Lester jumped 1m 60cm, and Grace Bower achieved triple victories in the U17W High Jump (1m 60cm), long Jump (5m 26cm) and the 80m hurdles (12.2sec). Kevin Metzger overcame a stiff headwind recording a 6m 64cm pb and Zach Harrop moved his pole vault best to 4m 25cm.
Personal bests were many, with Rory Keen recording his in the U17 100m Hurdles (14.4s) and 400m hurdles. (59.5s). Ben Moseley also had a double pb in the U17 100m in 12.3sec and 200m in 23.3s. Ellis Goldie (U17) was our top sprinter recording 11.4s in the 100m then really shone in the 400m with a 51.2s clocking. Zara Thompson caught the eye with a victory in the U17 800m in 2m 17.1s, Georgia Pickles fine 3m 50cm pole vault win and Jaimal Brown’s 51m 33cm majestic U17 Javelin throw were other notable performances.
