Manchester Marathon-
Volunteer Opportunities
Calling all
Harriers
Sale Harriers has been asked to
provide volunteers to assist with the marshalling programme for the
Manchester Marathon on April 29th.We require a minimum
of 60 volunteers to marshal between the M60 to Brooklands
Roundabout (see map). You'll only be required to volunteer between
9am-12pm as we have a fairly early location in the marathon.
For everyone who volunteers, the club is planning on having a
BBQ at Crossford Bridge between 12-2pm to thank them for their
efforts. We're calling this a Family Fun event and we'll be
organising some funny games, such as a sack race and an egg and
spoon race along side the BBQ. The marathon runners are more than
welcome to come and join us once they've finished.
If you can spare a few hours on the 29th April to
help out please can you email Paul Barrett (barrett_paul@hotmail.co.uk)
who is coordinating the volunteer programme. Not only will
volunteers get a feast at Crossford Bridge, they also receive a
race tee shirt and a race jacket. Also, you'll be helping club
funds as Extramile are paying the club a donation for your
time.
