We have Sizzler 2024 lift off! Get these dates in your diary and don't let anything interefere with them - not even your summer holidays! They're on Thursday/Friday evenings 7.30pm and this year's dates are....

If you are able to help in any way please get in touch. We need course setting up people in the afternoon before the race, marshals, car park attendants and people to help with a water station etc. Thank you.

Parking is available 800m from the start/finish through another entrance on the same road. It'll be well sign-posted and the usual marshals will be there to guide you. Just factor in an extra 10 minutes to get to the race start/finish.

This year additional team prizes will be offered.

Please pass these Sizzler dates among your colleagues so everyone has the opportunity to PB this summer on this super fast course........ at a price you won't find anywhere else.

Please do not attend if you are experiencing any symptoms associated with Covid 19. Wash your hands and sanitise whenever possible and maintain social distancing. Absolutely no spitting whilst on the course or within the race area.

• Tom Lancashire represented GB and NI in the 1500m at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

• Rebekah Wilson represented GB & NI at 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics in the Bobsleigh

• Alan Blinston represented GB & NI in the 1968 Mexico City Olympics in the 5000m.

• Ron Hill ran two Olympic Marathons (Tokyo 1964 and Munich 1972) and the 10,000m at Mexico 1968 Olympics. He was also the second man ever to break 2:10 in the marathon and set world records at four other distances, He won the 1970 Boston Marathon in a course record of2:10:30 and won gold medals for the marathon at the European Championships in 1969 and the Commonwealth Games in 1970.

• Jeff Norman represented GB in the Marathon at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. He’s also ran world a 50k record which was 2hr48; is the Snowdon Marathon record holder (2hr28) that he won 6 times.

• Diane Modahl (nee Edwards) competed in four Olympic Games: 1988Seoul, 1992 Barcelona, 1996Atlanta, and 2000Sydney. She was also 800m champion in the 1990 Commonwealth Games of 1990..

• Ann Griffiths (nee Williams) represented GB & NI in the 1,500 meters at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the 800m silver medallist at the 1990 Auckland Commonwealth Games

• Susan Crehan represented GB & NI in the marathon in the 1998 Seoul Olympic & the 10,000m at the World Championships in Rome 1987.

Again, I’d hope to bring together as many Olympians as possible into an ‘Auld Lang Syne’ fellowship to meet, greet, remember....and of course to celebrate for they've reached the pinnacle so many strive for. If you're an Olympian reading this would you put that date in your diary please and if you know an Olympian would you pass on the word, please. I’d also hope many of the regions classy runners would join this Olympic spirit even if it's just to jog the super-fast Sizzler course..
