New York To Snowdonia
Congratulations to FRANCIS SWEENEY who recently completed the New York Marathon. His goal was to improve his PB of 3.36hrs and enjoy the whole occasion. Despite the long inclines over major bridges, he maintained a steady pace and achieved his target of 3:25.7. Congratulations and well done! He also bumped into Paula Radcliffe....see the photo below.
Tim Rainey recently ran his tenth Snowdonia Marathon and was happy to just "enjoy" himself and completed the course in 3:57.27. Last year's time was 3:33.50. Andy Walling also returned for a second attempt and improved on last year's time despite wet and windy conditions in 2:59.33 for 22nd place.
Finally, last weekend three club members resisted the lure of the Sherdley Park cross country and joined over 400 others to tackle the flat but blustery WINDMILL 10K on the Fylde coast at Lytham St. Annes. GARY WILCOCK was first home in 19th place running 39.20 followed by TERRY LONERGAN (2ND M60) in 43.08 for 50th place. Geoff Beattie completed the trio in 87th place with 45.42
