Sale again scored a resounding victory in the second round of the YAL (held at Bebington) with a club record of 994 points. Maria Mc Polin and Rebecca Heyes won the 75m races. In the 100m Nathan Harris, Prosper Declan,Nia Obinma, Joha Efoloko, Elin Jones, Alyssia Carr and Isabelle Reynolds-Duffy all won.
Sale also dominated the 200m sprints with wins from Joshua Halson, Kamer Thompson, Jona Efoloko, Ben Mosely and J'Nay Ward, whilst Twana Gardener, Charlotte Worthington and Beth Bolton finished runners up. In the 300m Gaby George (1st), Beth Bolton (2nd) and Fola Jimi Oluborode (2nd) all ran personal bests. Denver Morrison also recorded a PB to win the 400m.
PB's were also the order of the day in the 800m with Eleanor Twite (1st), Rachel Hibberd (1st), Euan Gilchrist (2nd), Anthony Bruton (2nd), Catherine Podmore (2nd) and Alice Bruce (3rd) whilst Megan Davis recorded a seasons best in winning her event. In the 1200m races, Francesca Brint and Frankie Hacker-David both finished runners up with new PB's. Abigail Fitton and Adam Roden both recorded personal bests in winning 1500m races. Congratulations to Hannah Christy on winning the 3000m on her debut at the distance. In the hurdle races, PB's were recorded by Darnell Bell, Oliver Mc Cormick, Ross Mc Cormick, Harry Lord and Lydia Randles whilst Alyssia Carr finished runner up in a fast time of 12.10. Well done to Kalid Absiyeh for running PB's in both 800m and steeplechase.
In the high jump, Chris Bradley (2nd), Nia Obinma (1st), Fola Jimi Oluborode (1st), Amy Williams (2nd) and Meg Mc Hugh (1st) set PB's whilst Marnie Wells- Nicholls, Alex Hastie and J'Nay-Ward won their events with excellent performances. In the pole vault David Campbell scored a comfortable victory whilst James Frost, Jordan Bezzina and Serena Mohtasham all recorded new PB's. Long Jump victories came from Rory Canham, Ben Mosley, Amy Williams, Zenny Enechi, Kelly Chadwick and Amy Page. Amy Williams and Kelly Chadwick now head the national rankings for this event. Liam Mc Clean, Dwain Bell and Jade Clarke won triple jump events with Akenke White runner up.
Anthony Bruton won the shot with a new PB whilst Emma Lowe also recorded a new PB. Annabele Dowd (1st), Jack Sheldon (2nd) and Joshua Booth (1st) performed well in the discus events. Harry Lord was a clear winner in the javelin whilst Joshua Booth (2nd) and Jack Sheldon (1st) gained good points in the hammer.
