The club's multi-eventers performed well in the Dash Quadrathon at Sportcity last weekend. Sam Worthington won the U11 boys event which included a new long jump PB of 4.16m Ellie Jackson won the star performer of the day scoring a record points total and winning by forty points the U13 girl's event. Rory Canham and Adam Kinghorn were 2nd and 3rd in the U15 boy's event whilst James Ratcliffe ran 11.8 seconds to break the 100m record in the U11 girl's event, Scarlett Whittaker and Poppy Glasby-Seddon were equal 3rd with 272 points whilst Ayla Hewitt was not far behind with 263 points in 7th place. Thomas Boyd broke the 600m record with a time of 1:58.6 seconds and finished 5th in the U9 boy's event whilst Harry finished 6th in the U13 event.
Our older multi-eventers also performed with great credit in their NW Championships in Carlisle. Oliver Mc Cormick won the U15 boy's event by over 100 points whilst J 'nay Ward was 300 points ahead in winning the U17 girl's championship including a PB of 1.62m in the high jump. Harry Lord was 4th in the U17 boy's event as was Marnie Wells-Nicholls and Lydia Randles who was 4th and 5th in the U15 girl's championship. Grace Bower included a LJ PB of 4.88m to finish 4th in the U15 girl's event whilst Meg Mc Hugh launched the shot to a new PB of 7.94 cms whilst finishing 5th. These girls have another year in their age-group and will expect a medal next year.
