GREAT CLUB CHALLENGE
Sale Harriers finished 2nd in the Club Challenge at last May’s Great Manchester Run. As such we won 10 free entries for the 2014 Great Manchester Run to be distributed among club members. How do we distribute them?
As you probably know already, The Great Club Challenge last year included the Great North Run, Great Yorkshire Run, Great Scottish Run, Great Birmingham Run, and concluded at the Great South Run and last year’s lucky winners were Birmingham, Running, Athletics & Triathlon Club (BRAT) who won the all-expenses paid trip to the Great Ethiopian Run You can read more about their experience at http://www.greatrun.org/News/
Why not go for this in 2014? The club can enter as many of these events in 2014 as we wish and should the club finish 1st at any event, the team will win £500 towards club development plus 15 free entries for the following year and also be entered into the draw to win the grand prize of the trip to Ethiopia (24th November).
Is it worth challenging for in 2014? Finishing 2nd in the GNR shows that, with a bit of organization, the club can easily win these events and, with a bit of luck, win the draw that could result in a free trip to the Gt. Ethiopian Run next November. Is there anyone prepared to take on organizing this project and adding it to the section’s commitments for 2014?
If so, I’ll give the distribution of the 10 free entries to that person. If there is a willing organizer, let me know asap and I’ll also pass over the access details of the electronic token registration system with the notes on how to proceed. Please note the closing date to get runners registered into the event is 9am Monday 17 March 2014.
