It is with deep regret that we announce the sad passing of a very popular member of Sale Harriers, Keith Crosby.
Keith completed 3 London Marathons along with many other races including The Wilmslow Half (bottom left) and The Great North Run (bottom right). Keith and his wife Diana were often keen fundraising volunteers for Sale Harriers offering their help over the last 10 years.
His funeral will be held at Altrincham Crematorium on Friday 28th August at 1:30.
For more information please contact Morris Jefferson on 0161 969 3329.
He will be sadly missed by friends and family.
His son Nick writes,
"He ran 9 marathons , his first , the 1982 The Piccadilly Radio Marathon .
By the mid 80s , as a Leeds United supporter , he ran the World Race and the Manchester United 10k with Russ , his eldest son .
We believe he joined the Harriers around this time .
The photos of him in his beloved Sale Harriers vest are taken at one of his 3 London marathons and at the Easingwold half marathon in North Yorkshire .
We have him running in Tatton Park , his international outing in Lanzarote , and enjoying himself in the Great North Run .
The London marathons and the Great North run were highlights for him , he loved the camaraderie, collecting money for Christies and the RNLI , and of course the goodie bag and the pasta party.
He always talked about the run at Llandudno, the many Wilmslow races and never forgot the hills of the Stockport course, which lived in his legs for some time after .
I honestly think aside from the racing , the runs through Dunham , around Lymm, with his running group, were very treasured times for him.
He was very proud to be associated with such a prominent athletics club."
