The annual Bill Fox Round the Resers race was held in Tintwistle on Wednesday the 10th of June 2026. It was well attended by Sale Harriers with many included in the prizes. It is a part road, part trail race around the interestingly named Bottoms Reservoir in Tintwistle. The 2 lap route takes you over the bottom dam, up the far side of the lake to the upper dam and then back down with the finish at the end of the dam with over 40m of climb each lap.
Steve Henderson took 4th place and the prize for Vet 40 (Gavin Hill was actually 1st V40 but took the prize for 3rd). Rueben Ashton was 1st U20 and Steve, Rueben and Andrew Curvis won the men’s team prize.
The ladies were also strong with Erin Terry taking the win followed by her twin sister Jess and Bea Cordingley 3rd. They obviously secured the ladies team prize too. Erin was 1st U20, Jess 2nd U20 which meant Bea was 1st senior lady.
Club President, Brian Goulden said,
“Well done to all who turned out for last night’s Around the Reservoir race for the club. It was good to see the all those Sale Vest’s in the photos and to remember former club athlete Bill Fox which the race is now in his memory.”
