In April Molly Mills launched her 2026 season in superb style! At the Somerset Schools & Somerset County Combined Events Championships, she recorded an U18 heptathlon score of 5168 points to rank her No.1 in the UK. This was also a new U18 club record (she already holds the U17 heptathlon club record from 2024).

Four weeks later, she competed for England in an international competition in Fuerteventura, Spain. There, again, she was hugely successful with an extraordinary set of accomplishments. She won the competition in superb style with PBs in the shot put (13.10m) and javelin (47.56m). Her heptathlon score of 5456 met the qualifying standard for the U18 European Championships, taking place in Rieti, Italy in mid-July. She also improved both her PB and her U18 club record, and earned her first ever prize money – €250.

Disaster then struck! In one of her final training sessions before the Euros, she tore her hamstring and had to declare herself unfit to compete for GB.

With her coach Jess Taylor-Jemmett taking a back seat for a few years due to her young family and other commitments, Molly is now coached principally by John Lane in Sheffield.
